Face Skin Care Products for Combination Skin by Anne Softling
A combination skin is one type that is hard to treat. This is because your skin has both the oily and dry types. The oily parts are usually located on the forehead, nose and chin. These parts are the famous T-zone. If the T-zone has the oily type, the rest of the face is dry. Most women have combination type of skin that is why they are baffled as to what kind of face Skin Care Products they should use. With this type of skin it is possible that you will need 2 kinds of face skin care products: one to treat the oily T-zone while the other one for the dry areas.
First things first. As a general rule, you must cleanse your face. Since you cannot use 2 different cleansers, choose one that is specially made or formulated for combination skin. Cleansing should be done twice a day, not more nor less. If you cleanse more than 2 days, tendency is that your T-zone will be less oily but the dry parts will be drier. If this is done less than 2 times, your dry parts will be moisturized but your T-zone will be more prone to breakouts due to clogging of pores.
For the T-zone, it is best to use a mild astringent to remove the excess oil. Choose one product that is suitable for combination skin. The reason for this, the T-zone is considered oily and yet not too oily to be further classified as totally oily skin. Therefore, the oil gland produce sebum more than normal and yet less than the oily type. If you need to use cosmetics, choose an oil-free one to reduce shine.
Now, for the dry parts. Never use any alcohol based products as it will dry the skin more. If astringent or toner is used on the T-zone, avoid using it on the dry parts. Astringent have drying properties. Moisturizer is also needed to keep the dry parts soft and supple. But when applying moisturizer, be careful to avoid the T-zone. You want the dry parts moisturized and not add more moisture on the oily parts.
When buying face skin care products, always check the labels. Combination skin requires careful treatment and can be time consuming. Spend time in taking care of your skin as early as you hit puberty. Because taking care of your skin is a habit that you need to develop early.
